Why Is Nutrition Important?
Nutrition and health are closely related. Your food choices affect you today, tomorrow and ongoing. Making the right food choices in the short term can make you feel better on a daily basis. But not just that, it can make a huge difference for your future. According to www.Health.gov, About half of all American adults—117 million individuals—have one or more preventable chronic diseases, many of which are related to poor quality eating patterns and physical inactivity. These include cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, some cancers, and poor bone health.
Why Clinical Nutrition?
We have all told ourselves at one time or another that we are going to make an effort to eat healthier. But what where to begin? When there is so much information to sift through to determine ‘what’s healthy, what’s not?’ We often get so overwhelmed that we never leave the starting line.
Clinical Nutritionists take a whole body approach to healing. Rather than curing the symptoms, they focus on the cause of the ailments. A Clinical Nutritionist works with you as an individual and creates a plan that specifically:
Focuses on your fitness, nutrition or other related lifestyle goals.
Hones in on your symptoms to uncover how food might be a factor.
Gives you the tools you need to overcome your roadblocks to health.
Our Clinical Nutritionist’s philosophy is that the client's health is in their own hands. They focus on a preventative disease-reduction model, not just in relation to diet, but also lifestyle choices and attitudes towards health. Learning about balance rather than "handling" symptoms appeals to a lot of people who are frustrated by the general idea that their health is being pushed off or not taken seriously by other health care providers.
